Hi Family!
Sorry today's email will be fairly short. Because of the holiday we are emailing at a members home and are trying to be as quick as possible. This week I met Elder Lynn G. Robbins of the Seventy, and man is he one of my favorite speakers or what! He gave an amazing instruction about how we need to be nice to your companion, how to have a more meaningful personal study and companion study, and a couple of other things that I can't remember without my notes! But, it was really good! While we were at the Mission Tour (with Elder Robbins), I was able to see some of my favorite Elders! Elder Waters, Elder Smith, Elder Clark, Elder Anderson, and also Elder Duthie. It was really fun seeing all of them. I also saw Sister Jack and she is training a new Sister who is like as tall as me and it is awesome! Her name is Sister Lyon. I am going to be sending a picture in the mail.
This week was not the greatest week for our numbers. On Saturday we tracted all day and didn't get into one house. We had ONE lesson the whole day, and it was with a member. OH! And guess what! So you know how I HATE salmon? Well Sister Speed made this AWESOME Salmon Chowder (which I got the recipe for), and it is my new favorite way to eat salmon, because it was REALLY good. But yeah. Saturday--while we did not get in any doors on Saturday, we did meet a really neat man named Derek, and we were able to go and see him on Sunday to share with him a little bit more about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. He is a pediatrician, and I totally spelled that wrong, but it is okay! Ha, anyway, he is a pediatrician, and he told us to give him about 3 weeks until we give him a call. Now...normally I would wait about a week and then give them a call, but I felt like we really needed to wait the 3 weeks. So did Sister Aka. He has a lot of potential, and we are REALLY excited to start teaching him in 3 weeks. AH! He is awesome. He is the one thing that came from that stupid day that was good. Ha, ha! So he made it ALLLLLLL worth it.
Seriously, it was a pretty uneventful week. Oh! We had a really good lesson with Sister Byron on Thursday night. We watched the end of the Testaments, when Christ is basically going through the Atonement, and the Spirit was really there. We had a member with us, and we talked about repentance. Man! It was awesome. When we finished, I sang the song "Rescue Me" by Jenny Phillips, and it was really good. Can I just say that I love Sister Byron? We are going to see her 3 times this week, and we are pretty excited. On Tuesday we are going to watch the Joseph Smith movie with her. I think it will be really good.
Well, I am glad that things are going well at home, and that Grandma was able to have some fun with the family. I am grateful for everything you do family! I just want to end with my testimony.
I know that this church is true. I know that the atonement is real. I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me. I know that Joseph Smith was called to be a prophet of God. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet on the earth to day. I know that the church that Christ established when he was here on the earth, that it has been restored once again in its fullness. I know that repenting daily is necessary if we are ever going to change and become more like our Savior. Man, I really need to do that ha, ha! I am so grateful that I have you as a family, and that I know that I get to spend eternity with you. I love you all so much and I hope that you have a BEAUTIFUL week!
Love you!
Sister Stacy Jo Earl
